Plein Sud, meaning "Far South," is a contemporary Southern French brasserie that brings affordable and authentic cuisine to the TriBeCa neighborhood. Executive chef Ed Cotton—a veteran of chefs including Todd English, Laurent Tourondel and Daniel Boulud empires—has created a menu of updated classics, like salmon filet with cabbage fondue, honey crisp apples, parsnip puree and mustard-chicken jus; red wine–braised organic chicken; and Le Burger Royale au Fromage, an eight-ounce, cheese-stuffed angus beef burger with black-truffle aioli. The eatery is nestled within the chic Smyth Hotel.
