Founded in 1985 by the late US poet laureate Stanley Kunitz and visionary arts administrator Elizabeth Kray, Poets House is a 50,000-volume poetry library and literary center that is free and open to the public. A leading presenter of literary events, Poets House hosts more than 200 programs a year for adults and children in New York City and nationwide. The library and reading room are open Saturdays 11am–3pm starting October 10; in April 2010, the children’s room hours will be extended. Visit the website to find out more.
