Qanoon is a nostalgic Middle Eastern tribute to chef-owner Tarek Daka’s vivid memories of his mother’s Palestinian cooking. The contemporary, brick-walled Chelsea space has 40 seats at tables plus 10 at the broad bar. Share thick, satisfying spreads like muhammara, a blend of walnuts, sun-dried peppers and pomegranate molasses (meant to be scooped up with soft pita). The tabbouleh is bright with parsley and mint. Another must-have is a pita pocket sandwich of kofta (meatballs) and cauliflower dripping with tahini.
