Founded in 1966, this council serves as an umbrella group for Brooklyn’s various cultural groups, as well as the individual artists who work and live in the borough. One of their main goals is to ensure that thousands of people throughout Brooklyn have access to a variety of free arts programming each year. Programs include BAC Folk Arts, Professional Development Seminars for the Arts and the popular Scene: Brooklyn film project.
