Savor numerous brands of absinthe, expertly prepared at the original bar where the City Council drank during Prohibition. William Barnacle Tavern serves a variety of fine single malt scotch whiskeys in this former infamous speakeasy, plus Guinness, cider and more on draft. Live Irish music is played every Monday night. With no TV or loud music, this is the perfect place for a romantic date or good conversation. Owner Lorcan Otway often relates stories of the place's history, passed on to him by the bootleggers and actors he knew as a child. Exciting performances take place in the attached theater.
