Its temporary exhibitions and collection of Tiffany glass are second to none. Also note the museum building’s colorful history: It was constructed for the 1939 World’s Fair, occupied by the General Assembly of the United Nations and used again for the World’s Fair of 1964 and 1965. The three-dimensional map of New York, the Panorama, was constructed for the latter World’s Fair and is regularly updated for viewing.
