GET MORE NYC: OFF-BROADWAY WEEK STARTS TODAY

—2-for-1 Tickets on Sale for 39 of New York City’s Most Popular
Off-Broadway Shows—

New York City (January 30, 2012) — NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, reminds New Yorkers and visitors that Get More NYC: Off-Broadway Week starts today. Two-for-one tickets for 39 Off-Broadway Week shows are available through February 12 on nycgo.com/offbroadwayweek. Off-Broadway Week is part of the Get More NYC campaign and was created to celebrate New York City theater, boost ticket sales during typically slower travel periods of January and February, as well as provide unprecedented theater savings for New Yorkers and visitors alike.

“Off-Broadway Week returns for the fifth season this winter with 39 shows – more than ever before,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. “We encourage New Yorkers and visitors to take advantage of this 2-for-1 savings opportunity and experience some of the City’s best theater.”

Off-Broadway theaters, which have 100 to 499 seats, are located throughout Manhattan, offering an intimate setting for guests. Long-running shows such as Avenue Q, Fuerza Bruta: Look Up, Rent and Stomp join limited-engagement productions such as Carrie, Galileo and Look Back in Anger for the winter promotion. Also, since tickets for the winter program went on sale January 4, Aaron Carter, originally scheduled to depart the cast of The Fantasticks on January 22, announced he will continue to play the role of Matt through April 22.
