NYC & COMPANY AND BOOKING.COM CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR IN NEW YORK CITY WITH NEW $20.15 WINTER HOTEL PROMOTION

More Than 30 Hotel Partners to Offer $20.15 Credit for Guests to Spend When They Stay During the First 15 Days of 2015

Best Hotel Rates of the Year in NYC Typically Offered in January and February

New York City (November 25, 2014) — NYC & Company, the official marketing, tourism and partnership organization for the City of New York, together with Booking.com today announced a winter hotel promotion encouraging visitors and New Yorkers to take advantage of New York City’s best hotel rates of the year. To celebrate the New Year and to increase bookings in early January, 33 NYC & Company member hotels are participating in a first-ever “15 days of 2015” promotion, which provides hotel guests with a special $20.15 value-added incentive to book stays during the first 15 days of January. The promotion is available to visitors and New Yorkers when they book on nycgo.com/hotels, powered by Booking.com.

“The secret is out. With the best rates of the year, additional savings opportunities and easier access to all the excitement of New York City, visiting the City during January and February is one of the ideal times for visitors and New Yorkers to experience all there is to see and do in the five boroughs, at a more affordable price,” said Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company. “We encourage New Yorkers and visitors to start the New Year off right with a memorable stay in one of New York City’s delightful hotels.”

“We are excited to work together with NYC & Company to help leisure and business travelers, whatever their budgets, easily discover, book, and enjoy the best places to stay in New York City. We are committed to offering the best travel experience for our customers globally and hope that our customers will take advantage of this fantastic offer,” said Todd Dunlap, Managing Director of Booking.com Americas.

The $20.15 redemption varies by hotel and ranges from in-house dining, bar, spa or parking credit to neighborhood dining or shopping credit, which includes Macy’s at Herald Square and Starbucks locations. The 33 hotels participating in the $20.15 special promotion are 6 Columbus, a Sixty Hotel; Affinia Dumont; Affinia Shelburne; Andaz 5th Avenue; Andaz Wall Street; Chambers Hotel; The Chatwal New York; Comfort Inn Midtown West; Conrad New York; Grand Hyatt New York; Holiday Inn NYC – Lower East Side; Holiday Inn Express Manhattan West Side; Holiday Inn Express New York City-Wall Street; Holiday Inn Express Staten Island West; Holiday Inn New York City – Wall Street; Hôtel Plaza Athénée; Hyatt Times Square New York; Loews Regency Hotel; The Manhattan Club; The Marmara Manhattan; The Martha Washington; Millenium Hilton; New York Hilton Midtown; Roger Smith Hotel; The Strand Hotel; The Surrey; Sutton Court Hotel Residences; Viceroy New York; W New York – Downtown; W New York – Union Square; The Waldorf Astoria New York; Washington Jefferson Hotel; and the Wyndham Midtown 45.

The $20.15 winter hotel promotion will integrate NYC & Company’s recently launched global tourism campaign, Welcome to New York, and will be supported through out-of-home advertising across the five boroughs and internationally; digital media targeting potential visitors regionally, domestically and internationally; social media engagement; editorial content on nycgo.com highlighting 15 events in the first 15 days of 2015; and through Booking.com’s digital channels.

January, February and March are traditionally slow periods for tourism, making those months the perfect time to visit New York City and experience the vibrancy while taking advantage of lower hotel room rates and restaurant and theater savings across the five boroughs. Additional promotions during this period include NYC Restaurant Week Winter 2015 (February 16–March 6), and two-for-one ticket sales during Broadway Week (January 20–February 5) and Off-Broadway Week (February 23–March 8).

Since September 2013, Booking.com has been the exclusive hotel booking engine powering the City’s official tourism website, helping NYC & Company bolster incremental hotel bookings during key need periods, exclusively for its hotel member properties.
