New York City (November 7, 2013) – NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced the return of its NYC Sunday Stays program—an initiative designed to boost Sunday night stays in the nation’s most popular big-city destination. Sundays are an ideal time for visitors to access many of the amenities the City has to offer without the hectic pace that characterizes other days of the week. In addition, typically, visitors will be able to enjoy better value if they choose a Sunday night stay—in many cases, savings of up to 15 to 20 percent off the room rate. Beginning today, NYC & Company is rolling out a new resource at that summarizes activities and events that take place on Sundays including listings of Sunday-evening Broadway and Off-Broadway shows as well as various Sunday night restaurant incentives. “Sunday is the new Saturday in New York City—with our newly relaunched NYC Sunday Stays program, we’re inviting leisure and business travelers to consider staying over on a Sunday evening to take advantage of all the excitement the City has to offer at a decidedly less hectic pace. From Broadway and Off-Broadway shows to a variety of other entertainment and performing arts options and enticing Sunday restaurant incentives, it’s an ideal time to be in the City. On Sunday evenings, visitors can now access special dining deals at approximately 30 participating restaurants. In addition to Sunday theater matinees, 9 Broadway and 7 Off-Broadway shows currently offer Sunday evening performances. Other unique events on Sundays include flea markets, festivals and parades. 

On average, NYC & Company estimates that Sunday night stays typically cost about 15-20 percent less than other days of the week, depending on the season. 

The NYC Sunday Stays program was first launched in 2007 by NYC & Company—the current iteration focuses more on what the destination has to offer on Sundays in addition to the overall value that hotels provide on this day of the week as opposed to individual hotel offers and value add-ons.
