New York City (September 13, 2011) —NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, the NYC Food Truck Association and the Staten Island Borough President’s Office announce that the Great Staten Island Foodie Truck-athon at the St. George Esplanade has been rescheduled for September 17. The event, produced by NYC & Company in celebration of Staten Island’s 350th birthday and to encourage New Yorkers to visit Staten Island was originally scheduled for August 27, but was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene. Several of New York City’s most popular food trucks will gather in Lot A of the St. George Esplanade, immediately adjacent to the ferry terminal, serving meals from 11am to 5pm, rain or shine. Enjoy music provided by one of the DJs from Manhattan City Music, explore the many unique cultural institutions in St. George, and have a chance to win limited edition Staten Island and Truck-athon T-shirts during the event giveaways. Entry to the Foodie Truck-athon is free, and food truck menus will range from cupcakes to dumplings to lobster rolls.
