NYC & COMPANY ENCOURAGES THEATERGOERS TO PURCHASE BROADWAY WEEK TWO-FOR-ONE TICKETS ON SALE TOMORROW

New York City (January 8, 2015) — NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, is encouraging theatergoers to purchase two-for-one Broadway Week tickets to 22 of Broadway’s top shows. Tickets will go on sale starting at 10:30am tomorrow, January 9 at nycgo.com/broadwayweek for performances January 20–February 5. Launched in January 2011, Broadway Week is a biannual promotion designed to increase ticket sales during typically slower periods of attendance during the winter and fall. In the past eight iterations, Broadway Week has cumulatively sold 549,349 tickets, generating $36.2 million in revenue for Broadway. Last winter’s program broke records, selling approximately 95,000 tickets, a nearly 140% increase from the first iteration in winter 2011.

Consumers can enter the Official Broadway Week Sweepstakes, powered by Audience Rewards and The Actors Fund, for the opportunity to win dinner at Gallagher’s Steak House and tickets to a Broadway show of their choice for the winner and five friends.


Broadway Week will be promoted through bus shelters and street pole banners across the five boroughs; digital media; social media posts highlighting the promotion with the hashtag #BroadwayWeek; Taxi TV commercials running in NYC taxi cabs; advertising at Metro-North stations targeting New Yorkers to take Metro-North to Broadway Week; in-flight and targeted partner channels.
