—Chefs Establish New Dining Concepts Among New Hotels and Museums in Manhattan and Brooklyn—

New York City (December 12, 2016) — NYC & Company, New York City’s official destination marketing organization, encourages visitors and locals to experience dining options at the helm of top culinary experts across the City. Well-known chefs, including those from television or celebrated in the restaurant industry, have taken up residence across the boroughs in new hotels and in developing neighborhoods. From Top Chef’s Carla Hall to Cooking Under Fire’s Todd English, these new outposts offer diners a unique experience to engage with their favorite celebrity chef and taste their cuisine.

“There has never been a better time to experience a meal prepared by a celebrity chef than now in New York City,” said Fred Dixon, NYC & Company’s president and CEO. “Well-known chefs continue to add their talents to our vibrant restaurant scene, particularly to those available in our hotels, and we welcome our guests to eat out and enjoy these special dining opportunities.”

Celebrity chefs who have opened restaurants in the past six months, or plan to open in the coming six months include:

Andrew Carmellini

·         Italian-American Andrew Carmellini’s résumé includes restaurants across the City in Madison Square Park, Soho and Noho. His most recent endeavor includes two spaces in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in the new William Vale Hotel. Leuca, the main restaurant, presents a Southern Italian menu, featuring three kinds of pizza, with a classic margherita, pepperoni and a ricotta pie with broccoli rabe. Mr. Carmellini’s second post, Westlight, is the 22nd-floor rooftop bar featuring fantastic views of Manhattan. His menu of small plates reflects inspiration from global street food. (;

Anne Burrell

·         The feisty television personality is perhaps as well known for her show Worst Cooks in America as she is for her signature spikey blonde hair. Anne Burrell’s newest project, Phil & Anne’s Good Time Lounge, is scheduled to open by the end of the year in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Burrell will serve Italian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine in the 85-seat space, with plates including grilled pizzetta and a braised chicken with almond puree. (Website forthcoming)

April Bloomfield

·         April Bloomfield is a restaurant veteran with several thriving NYC installations, including The Spotted Pig, the Breslin Bar and Dining Room, and the John Dory Oyster Bar. Her newest venture, White Gold in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, is not just a 38-seat full- service restaurant, but will also double as a butcher shop. Along with meats and homemade cold cuts, the butcher shop will also sell bone broth, kombucha, pickles and more. (

Carla Hall

·         Carla Hall is best known as a competitor on Bravo’s Top Chef and, more recently, as co-host of ABC’s The Chew. Now, she can be known as a restaurateur with the opening of Southern Kitchen, in the Columbia Waterfront District in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Her hot chicken is the main attraction and is available on a heat scale that starts at Southern, moves up through Hootie Hoot and tops off at Boomshakalaka. The rest of the menu includes Ms. Hall’s take on favorites such as banana pudding, pimento cheese and collard greens. (

Dale Talde

·         Dale Talde is a reality television personality who has appeared on Top Chef: Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars, in addition to launching the successful Brooklyn restaurant Talde. His new project, the Italian- inspired Massoni, opened in November 2016 in the Arlo Hotel NoMad in Midtown Manhattan. Expect typical pasta dishes like spaghetti and less traditional plates like octopus puttanesca. They offer a variety of pan pizzas, including one with ricotta salata, charred brussels sprouts and pistachio pesto. (

Harold Moore

·         Harold Moore broke into the New York City restaurant scene by working in some of its most celebrated kitchens, such as Daniel, Jean-Georges and Commerce. He was featured on CBS’s The Dish and Esquire Network’s Knife Fight. His newest restaurant, Harold’s Meat + Three, opened in the Arlo Hotel Hudson Square in downtown Manhattan in September 2016 and serves a variety of meat dishes alongside the diner’s choice of three sides, with prices ranging from $19 to $39. (

Ignacio Mattos and Thomas Carter

·         Ignacio Mattos and Thomas Carter are the restaurant visionaries behind critically acclaimed collaborations including Estela and Café Altro Paradiso, the former of which was recently visited by President Obama. Their newest venture is the Flora Bar and Coffee at the new Met Breuer museum on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Flora Bar’s seafood-oriented menu includes raw scallop, sea urchin and lobster ravioli, while Flora Coffee will offer grab-and-go options like sandwiches and salads. The sleek museum space has large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, marble countertops and outdoor seating. (

Keith McNally

·         Keith McNally, the 30-year NYC restaurateur veteran best known for his Soho staple Balthazar, debuted his latest venture Augustine at the new Beekman Hotel in November 2016 in Lower Manhattan. The menu features French brasserie staples as well as weekly Plats du Jour. In keeping with the style of the boutique hotel, Augustine is decorated with wrought-iron chandeliers and stained glass. (

Todd English

·         Star of the hit PBS show Cooking Under Fire, Todd English opened his first cocktail-focused concept restaurant, The Stinger Cocktail Bar and Kitchen, at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel in October 2016 in Midtown Manhattan. The James Beard–award-winning chef uses the hotel’s rooftop beehives for its menu and drinks. Menu highlights include barbecue chicken nachos, a local cheese plate served with Stinger Honey and a multitude of craft cocktails. (

Tom Colicchio

·         Tom Colicchio has been the head judge on every season of the popular Bravo reality competition series Top Chef. Not only did he co-found the widely successful Gramercy Tavern in 1994, but he is also the recipient of five James Beard Foundation Awards. His new eatery, Fowler & Wells, is located in the stunning new Beekman Hotel in Lower Manhattan and offers American classics such as oysters Rockefeller and foie gras, as well as more contemporary dishes like rabbit schnitzel. Wolfgang Puck

·         The lifelong restaurateur Wolfgang Puck has locations of CUT in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, London, Singapore and Bahrain. Now, he has brought his luxury restaurant brand to NYC, the steakhouse capital of the world. Located in the new Four Seasons New York Downtown in Lower Manhattan, the sixth location of CUT offers upscale Japanese and American beef cuts grilled over hardwoods and finished in a super-heated broiler. The 86-seat space boasts red velvet seating, comfortable banquettes, parquet floors and gold silk curtains. (
