New York City (January 11, 2013) — NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today welcomed the National Retail Federation’s 102nd Annual Convention & Expo to New York City. Beginning Sunday, January 13, and running through Wednesday, January 16, the four-day convention, being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is expected to bring in more than 27,000 people to the City and generate 16,500 hotel room-nights and $21 million in economic impact. Boasting 167,000 net square feet, the Expo floor will feature more than 492 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest in retail technology.



“We are pleased to welcome back the National Retail Federation’s Annual Convention to New York City for the 102nd time,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. “The show generates a meaningful boost to the City’s economy during a typically softer travel period for the City.”



Recognized as “Retail’s BIG Show,” the industry’s most comprehensive educational forum is an annual event for retailers and visitors from more than 85 countries.



“Next” is the theme this year’s BIG Show, which will feature nearly 100 educational breakout sessions with topics ranging from what’s next in digital and mobile retailing to economic trends in 2013. Retail’s BIG Show will also unveil the next big step in NRF’s Retail Means Jobs campaign through marketing collateral and educational content.
