NYC & COMPANY WELCOMES NATION'S TOP RETAILERS TO THE 105th ANNUAL NATIONAL RETAIL FEDERATION
CONVENTION & EXPO



More Than 34,000 Visitors Expected to Attend Industry’s 
Most Comprehensive Trade Show



New York City (January 14, 2016) – NYC & Company, New York City’s official destination marketing organization , welcomes back the National Retail Federation’s 105th Annual Convention & Expo to New York City.  Starting Sunday, January 17, and running through Wednesday, January 20, the four-day convention, which will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is expected to bring in 34,000 people to the City and generate more than 34,000 hotel room-nights. This year, more than 575 companies are expected to exhibit in the 228,000 square foot EXPO Hall, which is 8,000 more square feet than the 2015 event.



Recognized as Retail’s BIG Show, the industry's most comprehensive educational forum is an annual event for retailers and visitors from more than 80 countries. Retail’s BIG Show has frequently been ranked as one of the Top 200 trade events in North America.

NRF has added several new components to its show this year, including:











  • Surprises for its 35,000 attendees, including gift card giveaways, apple cider and apple stations, free chocolate and s’mores for those extra cold evenings


     


  • A special area featuring promising retail technology startups and small, young companies that are about to make a big impact on the industry - The Launch Pad at Retail's BIG Show EXPO.


     


  • A food truck alley inside the Javits Center for attendees


     


  • A Retail Across America Rest Stop with lounge seats, phone chargers, a retail atmosphere and an opportunity to learn more about NRF’s

  • A

    retailer-only meet up every morning of the show

    that offers guests the opportunity to connect with peers and talk shop over morning coffee. The meet up includes 15-20 roundtables headed up by industry leaders.


     


  • For each session guests attend and rate in the NRF BIG Show mobile app, NRF will donate $1 to Friends of Karen (up to $5000). Friends of Karen is a New York City-area organization dedicated to providing emotional, financial and advocacy support for children with life-threatening illnesses.


     


  • An NRF Clubhouse, open to all attendees, which will have plenty of chairs and phone chargers.
