NYC & COMPANY WELCOMES NATION'S TOP RETAILERS TO THE 103RD ANNUAL NATIONAL RETAIL FEDERATION CONVENTION & EXPO



More Than 29,000 Visitors Expected to Attend Industry’s
Most Comprehensive Trade Show



21,000 Hotel Room-Nights and $26.7 Million in
Economic Impact to be Generated



New York City (January 10, 2014) — NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, welcomes back the 103rd annual National Retail Federation Convention & Expo to New York City.  Starting Sunday, January 12, and running through Wednesday, January 15, the four-day convention, which will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is expected to bring in 29,000 people to the City and generate more than 21,000 hotel room-nights and $26.7 million in economic impact. This year, more than 500 companies from around the world are expected to attend the convention.



“New York City holds the title as one of the most renowned retail destinations in the world. We are pleased to welcome the NRF Convention & Expo, the one-stop shop for industry professionals, to New York City,” said Fred Dixon, interim president and CEO of NYC & Company. “A convention and expo like this bringing more than 29,000 retailers and suppliers significantly impacts the tourism industry and New York City’s economic growth.”



Recognized as “Retail's BIG Show,” the industry’s most comprehensive educational forum is an annual event for retailers and visitors from more than 80 countries. Retail’s BIG Show has frequently been ranked as one of the top 200 events in North America.
