NYC & COMPANY WELCOMES MORE THAN 40,000 ATTENDEES TO NEW YORK CITY FOR THE 110TH ANNUAL PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE NEW YORK BOAT SHOW



—More Than 40,000 Visitors Expected to Attend the World’s First and Longest-Running Boat Show from January 21-25—



New York City (January 21, 2015) – NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, welcomes the 110th Annual Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show to New York City. Starting today and running through Sunday, January 25, the five-day convention, which is being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is expected to bring more than 40,000 people and more than 250 boats to the City. This year, nearly 275 companies are expected to display the latest luxury motor yachts, sport fishers, performance boats, sailboats, and new marine technologies and accessories at the show.



“We are pleased to welcome back the Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show for its 110th Anniversary, and that it continues to call New York City and the newly-renovated Javits Center home,” said Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company. “This iconic event draws visitors from far and near, and we are confident that this year’s show will continue to remind people why New York City is the perfect place to convene.”



Among the offerings at the 110th Annual Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show are an antique engines exhibit; hands-on tutorials hosted by the Progressive Insurance Boat School; a series of seminars produced by the Recreational Fishing Alliance featuring tips and tools from top fishing professionals; demonstrations to teach visitors everything they need to know about engine maintenance and repair; as well as an abundance of boat-themed giveaways.

The Fire Department of New York will kick off its 150th anniversary celebration with special programming at the 110th Annual Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show where patrons can learn about historic FDNY rescues including the September 11 attacks and Hurricane Sandy response. The FDNY also will host a photo contest where guests who take a selfie with one of NYC's bravest and use the hashtag #FDNY150 will have the chance to win a ride for four on a real FDNY fireboat.



Tickets for the 2015 Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show are $15 for adults and free for children 15 and under when accompanied by an adult.
