STATEMENT BY NYC & COMPANY ON BUSH ADMINISTRATIONS PLAN TO RELIEVE AIR TRAFFIC CONGESTION

New York, NY (November 15, 2007)Todays announcement by President Bush provided many welcome recommendations that will hopefully alleviate air traffic congestion in the New York area, particularly during the busy Thanksgiving holiday. The Federal government should be commended for their efforts to address both urgent and long-term concerns, and as the Citys official marketing and tourism organization, we are also dedicated to growing the nearly $25 billion travel and tourism industry. We hope to work together with the FAA, the US Department of Transportation as well as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to solve this persistent issue, without imposing any caps on flights that would limit travel in and out of New York and unquestionably have a devastating effect on a vital industry for our city. George FertittaCEO, NYC & Company
