New York City Highlighted as Popular Site for Meetings with Cardiology Symposium in Town



Latest Advancements in Cardiovascular Disease to be Revealed During Three-Day Educational Conference at Hilton New YorkConvention to Generate $1.5 in Economic Impact to New York City

New York City (December 8, 2008) NYC & Company, the city�s marketing and tourism organization, today lauded New York City�s popularity as a meetings destination as it prepares to welcome the 41st annual New York Cardiovascular Symposium to town this weekend. Close to 2,000 attendees will join a team of more than 40 cardiology experts from December 12 to 14 during an intensive three-day, interactive conference, featuring the latest diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive approaches to cardiovascular disease, a primary cause of death and disability worldwide.

The symposium, taking place at the Hilton New York in midtown Manhattan, will generate close to 2,000 room nights and bring in close to $1.5 million in economic impact to the City.

Cardiovascular specialists, internists, family physicians, advanced practice nurses, nurses in cardiology and physician assistants will attend the Cardiovascular Symposium, where key topics in cardiology, including coronary artery and valvular heart diseases, cardiac and electrical failure and atrial fibrillation will be explored.

The symposium, put together by the American College of Cardiology, is one of the association�s most popular educational programs of the year. The cardiology professionals will also return annually to New York City over the next several years.
