�NYC Visit Segment Promotes Beaches and Pools in the Boroughs�

New York, NY (July 2, 2007)�NYC & Company's Tiffany Townsend joined WNBC personality Perri Peltz on the set of News 4 You to promote summer swimming activities in the city. On Friday, June 29, the NYC Visit segment of News 4 You featured two beaches and two pools where visitors could go to find a summer getaway."When I mention that New York City has over 14 miles of beaches people always look at me in surprise," said Townsend. "Everyone thinks that when the summer comes around you need to travel elsewhere to find beaches and pools, but that is not the case at all. New York is a great summer destination�you do not need to escape the city in order to escape your ordinary routine."The segment featured Orchard Beach in the Bronx, the rooftop pool at Le Parker Meridien in Midtown Manhattan, the South Fin Grill on South Beach in Staten Island and the soon-to-open Floating Swimming Pool at Brooklyn Bridge Park Beach."The selected venues really showcase the variety of swimming options and locales that are readily available to visitors and New Yorkers alike," said Townsend. "One can go to each borough and find a cool, new place to relax, take a dip and catch some sun. All of these locations are easily accessible by bus and train, so you do not have to worry about that terrible beach traffic."Orchard Beach and South Beach are open to the public from 10am to 6pm daily until Labor Day on Monday, September 3. Le Parker Meridien offers day passes to their rooftop pool, sun deck and Gravity�the private, state-of-the-art gym.
