—Summer 2011 Marks 20th Annual Year for the World’s First-Ever Restaurant Week—

New York City (April 21, 2010)—NYC & Company, New York City's marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2011—the City’s original culinary celebration and world’s first-ever Restaurant Week—will take place July 11–24, 2011. For the 12th consecutive season, prices for the prix-fixe three-course meals will remain $24.07 for lunch and $35 for dinner (excluding beverages, taxes and gratuities). Diners will be able to take advantage of the limited-time value Mondays through Fridays; Saturdays are excluded and Sundays are optional for participating restaurants.

"We are excited to begin commemorating NYC Restaurant Week’s vibrant history and important milestone which will culminate with our dining program’s 20th Anniversary in 2012,” said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. “This season we are looking to thank all of the people throughout the industry—from the chefs to the waitstaff—who have helped make NYC Restaurant Week a success over the years. We anticipate Summer 2011 to be the largest culinary celebration to date and encourage locals and visitors alike to start marking their calendars."

NYC Restaurant Week began in 1992 as a one-time dining program to welcome the National Democratic Convention to town. Since then, the City’s largest gastronomic event has grown from 95 restaurants to more than 300, and has developed to include exclusive dining benefits, sweepstakes, consumer events and products.

NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2011 is produced by NYC & Company and supported by Founding Sponsor American Express® and Participating Sponsor Travelocity®.
