NYC & COMPANY CONCLUDES ITS SECOND SEASON OF GO LOCAL BY INSPIRING NEW YORKERS TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Weekend of September 11 Offers Ways to Volunteer, Donate and Remember

New York, NY (September, 9 2009) NYC & Company, New York Citys marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced its Go Local activities for the weekend of September 11. This weekend, New Yorkers and visitors alike are encouraged to give back to the City as a positive way to remember 9/11. NYC & Companys Go Local initiative provides residents with suggestions for free and low-cost weekend activities, inspiring them to explore the City and support local business.

The events of 9/11 have been ingrained into the collective experience of all New Yorkers as a significant moment in New York Citys history. In retrospect, that day has become a symbol of service, unity and compassion, said NYC & Companys CEO George Fertitta. This weekend, we encourage New Yorkers and visitors to take time out of their busy schedules to lend a helping handno matter how you choose to give back, it is important we show the world New York Citys great and caring community.

This weekend, New Yorkers can commemorate 9/11 by providing service to the City and its residents in various ways.
