NYC & COMPANY LAUNCHES GET MORE NYC WINTER CAMPAIGN

Deals and Programs in January and February 2011 Designed to Boost Travel to NYC During Winter Period

New York City (October 20, 2010) — NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced the launch of its Get More NYC campaign for winter. With special offers available to consumers January to February 2011, there has never been a better time to plan an affordable and exciting trip to the nation's most popular tourist destination. Special American Express® Cardmember benefits, enticing citywide winter hotel deals and a first-ever Broadway Week will all be unique draws for visitors looking for extra value on their next visit to the five boroughs.

"Through collaboration with many strategic partners, the winter Get More NYC campaign will offer residents and visitors to New York City extra value and travel incentives for the beginning of 2011," said NYC & Company Chief Marketing Officer Jane Reiss. "A trip to New York City is a rite of passage for many, and we hope that providing great hotel packages, along with the tremendous entertainment and consumer deals, will give people the means to come here and feel the city's energy and vibrancy. We really want to encourage those planning a trip to the City to take advantage of these extraordinary savings and 'See More, Be More.'"

Beginning in January, NYC & Company partner American Express will be offering Cardmembers the opportunity to earn points on their purchases. More than 250 participating merchants, from shopping and dining to arts and entertainment, will be offering locals and visitors triple points when they use their American Express Card from January 24 to February 28.

"American Express is very excited to be partnering with NYC & Company to help launch the Get More NYC winter program," said Lisa Skiptunis, Vice President of Client Management, New York City. "This campaign will support American Express merchants by encouraging sales and store traffic during traditionally soft business periods, while also helping provide incentive for Cardmembers to get out and explore the incredibly diverse activities New York City has to offer."

Another lead component of the Get More NYC winter program is the enhanced hotel offers that will not only make staying in the City more attractive but will also help fill rooms during traditionally slow periods. More than 80 hotels throughout the City will offer up to 35 percent off their best available rate during January and February when travelers book between October 15 and November 2. Those who book from November 3 to February 28 will have access to "Stay More, Save More" specials as well as "Winter Getaway" packages (offers vary from hotel to hotel). Finally, theater aficionados can take advantage of the City's first-ever Broadway Week. Theatergoers will be able to purchase two-for-one tickets to more than 40 of Broadway's hottest shows when tickets go on sale January 3. Exclusive to AT&T customers will be a one-week window to purchase tickets prior to the general booking period.
