NYC & COMPANY PREVIEWS THIS SUMMER�S FREE AND LOW-COST MUSIC CELEBRATIONS TAKING PLACE IN NEW YORK CITY

�From Central Park�s SummerStage to Shows on Rockefeller Plaza , New York City�s Tourism and Marketing Organization Identifies the Best Concerts to See in NYC This Season�

New York City (June 2, 2009) � NYC & Company, New York City�s marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today issued their guide to free and low-cost outdoor summer concerts throughout the five boroughs on its website www.nycgo.com. Information will include a list of venues and articles illustrating upcoming shows to encourage New York City residents and visitors alike to take advantage of the various musical performances taking place over the next few months. Geared towards all ages and preferences, this summer�s best lyrical acts are highlighted by the City recognized as a breeding ground for creativity.

�New York City has always been a tremendous source of inspiration for those in the performing arts,� said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. �The music programs being offered throughout the five boroughs this summer are a wonderful opportunity for artists to share their talent and give back to the community. Many popular concert series will be back this year including Central Park�s SummerStage, returning for its 20th anniversary, Lower Manhattan�s River to River Festival, taking place for the 7th year, and of course Celebrate Brooklyn! - one of New York City's longest running, free, outdoor performing arts festivals which began in 1979. Notable performers from these events will include Brooklyn rockers TV on the Radio, Grammy-winning Ziggy Marley, American icon David Byrne and the energetic duo MGMT.

Many one-day music events are also scheduled to return this summer � Make Music New York and Siren Music Festival. Make Music New York marks its third run as part of a global celebration of free concerts in public spaces on the first day of summer, June 21st. Make Music New York is a unique festival of shows across the five boroughs that will run from morning until night while simultaneously occurring in over 327 cities around the world. Coney Island welcomes back Siren Music Festival on July 18th for its 9th year with international, national and local bands and DJs performing on two outdoor stages near the boardwalk.

The national morning shows based here in NYC attract crowds with their own free summer show lineups. The Today Show Summer Concert Series kicked off their first act in May on the Rockefeller Plaza and will continue to feature artists such as Kings of Leon, the Jonas Brothers and the Black Eyed Peas every Friday through the end of August. The Good Morning America 2009 Summer Concert Series moved their show to Central Park�s Rumsey Playfield for loyal fans and music lovers this year and will present the likes of John Legend, the cast of the musical �Hair� and Kenny Chesney.
