NYC & COMPANY TRAVELS WITH TOURISM DELEGATION TO LONDON TO ATTEND WORLD TRAVEL MARKET AND PROMOTE NEW YORK TO NUMBER ONE INTERNATIONAL MARKET




32 Co-Exhibitors to Showcase Destination to International Travel Trade and Media During Four-Day Event Nov. 9-12



New York City (November 2, 2009) � NYC & Company, the City�s marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced that it will travel to London next week with a tourism delegation to attend World Travel Market Nov. 9-12. The purpose of the business trip will be to promote New York City to its number one international market, the UK, and to highlight NYC & Company member companies while expanding NYC�s reach to the international travel trade and media. Thirty-two co-exhibitors will accompany NYC & Company�s tourism and communications staff on the four-day event.



�World Travel Market is one of the year�s most important trade shows�and, because of the UK�s importance as a key driver of international tourism to the City, we believe this collective effort on behalf of our $30 billion tourism industry will generate increased visibility for New York City�s five boroughs,� said Fred Dixon, senior vice president of tourism & convention development for NYC & Company.

Close to 50,000 travel industry professionals attended World Travel Market in 2008. World Travel Market is a trade event and is not open to the general public.
