NEW YORK CITY DEBUTS NEW OFFICIALLY LICENSED TAXICAB MERCHANDISE ATNEW YORK INTERNATIONAL GIFT FAIR



�Trade Show Brings 2,800 Exhibitors from 23 Countries toLarge Venues throughout New York City�


New York, NY (August 10, 2007)�Today, NYC & Company, the official marketing and tourism organization for the City of New York, unveiled the first of the officially licensed NYC products that will bear the City's new taxicab graphics. The merchandise will be available to the trade beginning at the New York International Gift Fair, which takes place August 11�16 in venues citywide. The gift show�comprising 2,800 exhibitors from 23 countries�is the premiere home and gift market in the US The expected attendance of 45,000 will include the industry's leading suppliers and retailers."The Gift Fair is the ideal venue to introduce these new, officially licensed products," said Lloyd Haymes, vice president of licensing for NYC & Company. "They're a great preview of the new graphic design that will be seen on more than 13,000 City taxicabs this fall. We're also excited to debut this set as the first of many licensed products scheduled still to be released this year."The new merchandise includes a five-inch toy NYC taxicab and sign play set. It will be available for pre-sale by the City's official licensee, Daron Worldwide, through their sales representative, Big Apple Enterprises, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Booth 1055. New taxicab merchandise will also be available for purchase this fall through the City's official online store, officialnycshop.com. The online store also can be accessed from the City's official tourism website, nycvisit.com.NYC & Company currently licenses official products for seven City agencies, including the New York City Police Department, the New York City Fire Department, the Department of Sanitation, the Taxi and Limousine Commission, the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Department of Transportation and the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. Proceeds from the sale of officially licensed merchandise benefit the City agencies represented and are reinvested into the promotion of the City of New York.In addition to the Javits Center on 655 West 34th Street, the Gift Fair uses space at the Passenger Ship Terminal, 711 Twelfth Avenue, and the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, in Chelsea.Note to Editors: Images available upon request.
