New York City (June 22, 2007)—Staten Island Borough President James P. Molinaro yesterday announced the schedule for Staten Island's 2007 free summer events, which run June 30 through August 31. The annual program, which draws tens of thousands of people, celebrates summer and the city with free outdoor concerts, beach festivals, fireworks and more throughout the borough.

The Celebrate America Concert and Fireworks show at Wolfe's Pond Park kicks off the season of free events on June 30. The summer line-up also includes Thursday evening Starlight Concerts at park locations across the Island, a special Doo Wop concert and fireworks display at the South Beach Boardwalk, a children's day at the Carousel for All Children with a special concert and activities, two Back to the Beach festival weekends at the Midland Beach Sea Turtle Circle and an End of the Summer Concert and Fireworks show at the Ocean Breeze Fishing Pier.

"I encourage both Staten Islanders and residents of the other boroughs to take advantage of our free summer events at our island's beautiful parks and beaches. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy great music and great times in a family-friendly environment," Molinaro said.

"NYC & Company encourages visitors and New Yorkers from all five boroughs to take advantage of Staten Island's free summer events that showcase some of the many exciting experiences the borough has to offer," said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta.
