THE LARGE SHOW ROUNDTABLE COMES TO NEW YORK CITY

Networking Event Includes Elite Group of Exhibition Executives from Across US

New York, NY (July 5, 2007)The Large Show Roundtable (LSR)an exclusive meeting of 24 of the top professionals responsible for some of the largest exhibitions in the USwill convene in New York City for the first time July 12. The one-day forum is an informal gathering that includes six hours of facilitated discussion. Topics addressed are at the discretion of participants and include strategic methods for tackling the challenges of producing and marketing mega-shows."The response to New York City being chosen as the site of the LSR was immediate and resoundingly positive among those invited," said Sam Lippman, founder and facilitator of the LSR as well as producer of the Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum and president of integrated show management & marketing (ism2). "The energy and international appeal of New York City as well as the caliber of meeting options available make the destination the perfect choice for this summer's meeting."The invitation-only forum is held twice a year and is tailored specifically to planners who use 140,000 net square feet of space or more in their exhibitions. Nine forums have been held to date, together involving more than half of the Tradeshow 200, the managers of the nation's top 200 trade shows. In addition, a limited number of vendors are allowed access to the meeting, which is positioned more as an industry networking event."The organizations that run the most Tradeshow 200 trade shows are in or around the New York City metropolitan area, so it's entirely appropriate that this market be served by this prestigious event," said Tony Calanca, executive vice president of exhibitions for Advanstar Communications, who will attend the show this month."We are delighted to welcome the LSR and its elite group of exhibition industry veterans to New York City," said Timothy McGuinness, executive director of NYC & Company, the city's marketing and tourism organization. "This is a unique opportunity to make a considerable impact on some of our industry's most respected exhibition industry leadership."
