First-Ever Holiday Program Offers Savings and Promotions at More than 100 Harlem Locations Beginning Saturday, December 1 with Kick-Off Event at Nubian Heritage of Harlem; Event Also Marks New Location of Harlem Visitor Information Center







New York City (November 30, 2007) Mayor Bloomberg and NYC & Company today announced Harlem for the Holidays � a new holiday program that brings together more than 100 Harlem retailers, restaurants and landmark attractions to offer a variety of promotions and savings from December 1 through December 24. New Yorkers and visitors can receive offers ranging from 20% discounts to two-for-one admission at some of Harlem�s most popular destinations, including El Museo del Barrio, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Hats By Bunn, N Boutique, Lenox Lounge, Sylvia�s Restaurant and more. The Mayor made the announcement this morning on the weekly radio show "Live from City Hall with Mayor Mike and John Gambling."

"Harlem for the Holidays celebrates one of the City�s most exciting and thriving neighborhoods," said Mayor Bloomberg. "We invite New Yorkers and visitors to �Take the A Train� for their holiday shopping to enjoy savings at some of Harlem�s most popular stores, restaurants and attractions, while also experiencing the neighborhood�s rich history and culture."

"Harlem for the Holidays is an exciting opportunity to explore this dynamic neighborhood and take advantage of exclusive offers and exceptional savings," said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. We invite everyone to join us on Saturday, December 1 at Nubian Heritage � the new location of our Harlem Visitor Information Center � to kick off Harlem for the Holidays and enjoy entertainment, shopping, free gift wrapping and more."

Harlem for the Holidays begins Saturday, December 1 with a kick-off event from 2pm to 5pm at Nubian Heritage of Harlem. The event will feature music from WBLS radio, shopping, free gift-wrapping, food sampling, children's activities, giveaways and more. The day also marks the new location of NYC & Company�s Harlem Visitor Information Center, which will be located within Nubian Heritage. The center will be staffed daily by a visitor counselor and offer brochures, maps and guides for visitors.


Program offers range from 20% discounts to a free glass of wine with dinner to two-for-one admission. Patrons must mention "Harlem for the Holidays" to take advantage of the promotions.

Information is also available at the City�s Official Visitor Information Center, located at 810 Seventh Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets and at visitor kiosks in Harlem (inside Nubian Heritage at 2037 Fifth Avenue), the Financial District (26 Wall Street), City Hall Park (Broadway at Park Row) and Chinatown (at the intersection of Canal, Walker and Baxter Streets). The program will also be promoted through print, radio and online advertising as well as bus shelters and street pole banners throughout the five boroughs.

NYC & Company worked with dozens of organizations to develop "Harlem for the Holidays," including the Office of the Manhattan Borough President, Harlem Business Alliance, the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, Women�s Alliance of Harlem, East Harlem Business Capital Corporation, East Harlem Chamber of Commerce, East Harlem Tourism Board, New York City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone.
