20 NEW HOTELS JOIN NYC SUNDAY STAYS: A CITYWIDE HOTEL PROMOTION DESIGNED TO EXTEND THE WEEKEND

City Businesses Prepare to Welcome Visitors and Couples with Special Offers and Promotions

New York, NY (November 29, 2007) NYC & Company, New York Citys official marketing and tourism organization, today announced that 20 new hotels have signed on to NYC Sunday Stays, a hotel promotion offering discounts and specials for guests who spend a Sunday night at one of more than 44 participating hotels.

The NYC Sunday Stays program allows visitors to take advantage of historically lower occupancy rates on Sunday nights while also enjoying the best of what the city has to offer, said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. When the program launched at the end of September, 24 hotels were on board. Since then, an additional 20 have signed on, demonstrating the campaigns popularity among consumers.

NYC Sunday Stays, which began on Sunday, September 16, now features a list of 44 New York City hotels. The program encourages consumers to extend their weekend through a Sunday night or begin the work week with some relaxation.

As part of the promotion, NYC & Company has partnered with participating hotels to reduce Sunday room rates by 20 to 30 percent. In addition, guests will receive various hotel-specific amenities, including discounted room service and restaurant dining, complimentary breakfast, free parking, room upgrades and more. As an added benefit, NYC & Company has also produced a Sunday calendar of events, accessible on the NYC Sunday Stays section of nycgo.com so visitors can take full advantage of their extended weekend.

This program primarily targets domestic visitors, both business and leisure, including those from the tri-state New York area as well New York City residents looking for a good value in their own backyard, added Fertitta.

The promotion is aimed at helping New York Citys hospitality industry improve Sunday hotel occupancy rates, which traditionally drop an average of 20 points from Saturday night. Additionally, it encourages business travelers to begin their stay a day early to enjoy all the City has to offer.
