TOP STUDENT ATHLETES FROM NYC HIGH SCHOOLS TO COMPETE IN NYC MAYOR’S CUP SOCCER ALL-STAR GAMES NOVEMBER 15–16
— New York Red Bulls Soccer Team to Support Championship Games with Player Appearances and Street Team Performances —
New York City (November 12, 2014) — New York City’s top high school senior boys and girls soccer players from the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and independent schools will compete for the right to call their league the “Best in the City” at the 2014 NYC Mayor’s Cup Soccer All-Star Games on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16. All games will be played at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, and admission is free.
To support the championship games on Sunday, Ruben Bover and Marius Obekop of the New York Red Bulls will attend the events to cheer on the athletes and sign autographs, and the New York Red Bulls Street Team, will perform freestyle tricks and host fun activities throughout the games.
The NYC Mayor’s Cup is produced by NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization. The series showcases student athletes of all ages from the five boroughs as they compete to prove they are New York City’s best at baseball, basketball, chess, cricket, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, track & field and wrestling.
