Statement on Global Meetings Industry Day
Jerry Cito, Executive Vice President, Convention Development
New York City Tourism + Conventions

"New York City Tourism + Conventions proudly continues its support of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition and Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID). For nearly a decade, the Meetings Mean Business Coalition (MMBC) has championed the importance and power of face-to-face meetings, conventions and business events, and the significant impact they have on local economies and the tourism industry nationwide. Our annual Tristate Meeting Planner event that celebrates GMID is part of a citywide recognition, and this year we once again turn NYC blue by lighting up iconic locations including: One Bryant Park; One Five One; SUMMIT One Vanderbilt; Rockefeller Center; One World Trade Center; Pier 17 at The Seaport; Coney Island Parachute Jump; Empire Outlets; Sven; and the Javits Center. We look forward to continuing our work with business event professionals to welcome delegates from around the world to New York City this year and beyond.”
